Swampoodle is quite the name. Although it sounds like a vaguely terrifying dog, it’s actually a riff on “swamp puddle.” The Irish immigrants who once dominated the neighborhood had to dodge a ton of swamps and puddles. You’re constantly dodging stuff, too, except it’s not really puddles.

It’s extra clothes and appliances poking out of your closets and cabinets. There’s just not enough room for all of them in your apartment, but you don’t want to put anything on eBay.
