The history of Burke can be traced back to the 19th century. The area itself is named for Silas Burke, who was a local merchant and politician. Until around the middle of the 20th century, the area was extremely rural. This began to change around the end of World War I, and on into the early 1950s.

Naturally, you’re going to want to visit this location during the nicer times of the year, but some people will tell you that Lake Braddock is lovely during any time of the year.
