Located in the southeast portion of Arlington County, Virginia, Pentagon City is one of the most popular places for tourists to visit in Northern Virginia (NOVA). The area offers an impressive mix of commercial properties, local businesses, residential properties, and more. Pentagon City is also notable for its close proximity to Washington DC. If you find yourself in Pentagon City, you’ll be pleased to find that the area has a metro stop that’ll take you to Washington DC, other NOVA stops, and certain parts of Maryland. Less than one mile from the Potomac River, Pentagon City is bordered by Crystal City. Once known as ReLee, Pentagon City really didn’t begin its true developmental history until the 1960s. It was at this point when larger high-rise buildings were erected throughout the area. This development continued throughout the 1970s and 80s. Development continues throughout the area, and it’s generally accepted that Pentagon City is an example of the excellent commercial and residential support systems that are connected in some form or fashion to Washington. The connections between Pentagon City and DC are significant. The area is notable for having locations related to the DEA, the TSA, and a wide range of businesses that are closely related to the defense industry. The DEA museum is also near the area. In terms of shopping and other points of interest, you’re going to want to make time for the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, also known as Pentagon City Mall. This multi-level indoor mall has everything you could ever need in a mall, including a number of special events that are held throughout the year. You’re also going to want to stop by Pentagon Row, an area that features grocery stores, local businesses, specialty stores, and several other unique locations. There are plenty of luxury apartments, condos, and hotels throughout Pentagon City. If you wish to move there, you’ll find that condos and apartments are more readily available than actual houses. However, finding a nice place to live isn’t impossible by any means.
