True to its name, Chinatown boasts a population that is nearly 70% Asian. It covers a relatively small location geographically, but is also one of the more densely populated neighborhoods in Boston. Two foo lions greet visitors, perched on the traditional, imposing entrance into the neighborhood.
The Chinese dining options are endless: Avan Sushi, Shabu-Zen, and Shojo are amongst its finest, as well as reasonably priced options. During warmer months, Chinatown also hosts various street festivals and celebrations, including Films at the Gate (which shows primarily Kung Fu movies), and the August Moon Festival.
