Boston Red Sox fans might recognize the Citgo sign they have seen behind Fenway Park on televised games. Now officially a historic landmark, this sign sits proudly at Fenway Square in the Fenway-Kenmore neighborhood. Fenway Square is also a close neighbor of Landsdowne Street, known as one of Boston’s hottest nightlife hotspots, with numerous bars and pubs to choose from. Restaurants are equally plentiful, with options ranging from traditional American fare, to Asian and Italian cuisine. Though its proximity to Fenway Park brings a lot of sports fans to the area, the Square is also home to students, graduates, and young professionals. Nearby Boston University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology have a large presence here, as do the Boston Red Sox, when thousands of fans fill the streets during baseball season.
